I love Nick Cave too, SS. Heard an interview with one of his bandmates once who described him as "king of the kids" as everyone else's kids just loved him (this was before he had his own).
My daughter could relate to you on the raisins. The reason I put that banana quote in my 8 things was that she had been getting stuck into me for daring to ruin 'the best banana cake in the world' by putting sultanas in it.

1. I only started song writing after my 50th birthday when someone gave me a wonderful book called The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron which is about unblocking the creative person inside each person - it worked!
2. I've been married twice - once to a man I'd only known for 3 weeks and had two children with him who are grown up now and second to a man who was my next door neighbour. Both ended in divorce and I don't think I'm suited to marriage although I get on very well with men - I change too much and they can't keep up.
3. I love travelling and meeting people and one day (maybe next year) I want to do a "blog tour" round the world meeting friends from the internet and take my guitar with me to do little gigs in local places.
4. I can't stand cooking though I try and make the effort to eat healthy food- I have a beautiful under-used kitchen. I enjoy it more if people are coming to dinner but every day cooking - uggggh!
5. I sleep badly and not enough - usually about 6 hours a night - I have way too much energy for one person.
6. I can speak Spanish nearly fluently and understand French and a bit of Italian. I studied Latin and want to learn a bit of Mandinka (one of the Gambian languages) - I just love languages!
7. I worked for over 20 years in the charity and vol sector as a manager and latterly as a management consultant for small organisations - now I do mainly vol work and spend all my time doing music and I want to record another album in due course
8. *taps fingers trying to think of another random fact* - I have different colour eyes - my right eye is blue and my left eye is blue and brown!
